The Perfect Summer Bag Meets Fair Trade

Posted on 29 May 2007 by Alexis

Writing this blog absolutely, positively confirms to me that we are being brainwashed by the lux-label houses.

My friend - Jane Doe of New York City - just blew $50 for a Coach knock-off on Canal Street.

She showed it to me and asked what I thought of it. (Why did she do that?)

“On the Foxy-o-Meter,” I began, “that hideous patchwork bag easily ranks a 1 out of 10.”

“Well what did you score Ms. Indie-Wholistic-still-wearing-gold-door-knocker-earrings fashion guru?” she asked.

“Don’t be jealous!” I chided. “If you just waited, you could’ve spent an extra $30-$50 for something that would’ve made the other NYC label whores jealously stare in admiration.”

I would’ve told her to go to Mad Imports.

Mad Imports isn’t the makings of just one indie designer. The handmade line comes from multiple artisans in Madagascar and Kenya.

These bags are like the epitome of summer. So fresh, colorful and original.

You put one on, and you’re like a smokin’ senorita with socially conscious class. Now that’s hot.
