Eco Super Tee Shirt Designer Girl

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Revival Ink is like mission control in the eco-friendly t-shirts department.

They use organic, vintage or recycled fabrics. They only use biodegradable soy based chemicals when screen printing. They scrape all excess ink back into the container. And they use a self-contained water filtration unit that recycles water for cleaning any remaining ink from screens.

Plus each tee is printed by hand, so it’s a one-of-a-kind.

I know, I know… just hide your Method cleaning products. Revival Ink designer Tara Smith has got us beat!

1-900-Call Your Fashion Psychic

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I have a psychic prediction to make.

You’re a unique soul. You’re the type of girl who likes to look good - as long as it’s not LMS (local mall standard).

I feel like you’re looking for tops… yes, yes… something with unique design work. Oddly enough I’m seeing a red rooster. Do I hear you saying “bohemian chic?”

Hmmm… well if that’s right, I have the designer for you. It’s Supermaggie.

Maggie hand screen prints t-shirts, makes felted wool scarves, and basically stays super in Louisiana.

Her collection is quite fun and ‘artsy neighborhood-ish’.

Now Hold On a Minute… They Do WHAT With Cashmere?!?

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

When I read the bio for Amanda Shi (creator of the Avita line) I thought to myself… fashion houses DISCARD the extra cashmere after its been cut??? That’s criminal! But even amazing is that Amanda has been able to take that extra material to create her own line.

Yes… a line designed from recycled cashmere. Now that’s a recycling project I wish I had starting accepting donations for! I would’ve given out the little green bins and everything. :-)

I love cashmere. It feels so good against your skin. It’s warm when it’s supposed to be, and it just looks good on you. I could live in it.

In fact, that’s Amanda’s tagline: “Live in cashmere.”

Amanda… if you’re reading this, feel free to adopt me and I’ll be more than happy to live in as much cashmere as you’re willing drape over my womanly frame.

I love her line because of the smooth silhouettes. You can dress it up or dress it down. And it has a timeless look. Tres, tres Sex in the City.

You Too Can Be an Eco-Fly Girl

Monday, December 31st, 2007

I always start my New Year’s resolutions in December. This way when January rolls around I’m already well into adapting my new habits.

This New Year I’m dedicated to ramping up my green efforts. And that includes wearing more organic and eco-friendly clothing.

If you’re down for supporting the cause, then Passenger Pigeon presents a collection filled with organic cotton, hemp and even tencel (a fully biodegradable fabric).

Clean lines, cute and earth friendly - more power to the Passenger Pigeon people!

The $58 Blouse of Socialites

Friday, December 28th, 2007

If this top were a muse, it would arouse symphonies as melodious as Beethoven, and art that would inspire Picasso himself.

It would pick you up and magically take you to the Cannes Film Festival, the W Hotel lounge for after dinner drinks, and bring you back to your doorstep in a private jet.

And it would do it in the most natural of ways.

I heart this top.
