You Too Can Be an Eco-Fly Girl

Monday, December 31st, 2007

I always start my New Year’s resolutions in December. This way when January rolls around I’m already well into adapting my new habits.

This New Year I’m dedicated to ramping up my green efforts. And that includes wearing more organic and eco-friendly clothing.

If you’re down for supporting the cause, then Passenger Pigeon presents a collection filled with organic cotton, hemp and even tencel (a fully biodegradable fabric).

Clean lines, cute and earth friendly - more power to the Passenger Pigeon people!

The $58 Blouse of Socialites

If this top were a muse, it would arouse symphonies as melodious as Beethoven, and art that would inspire Picasso himself.

It would pick you up and magically take you to the Cannes Film Festival, the W Hotel lounge for after dinner drinks, and bring you back to your doorstep in a private jet.

And it would do it in the most natural of ways.

I heart this top.

My Green Cuff Dream

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

As you may have noticed from my previous posts, I really, really like cuff bracelets.

This Christmas I debated, “New computer or 3 cuff bracelets… new computer or 3 cuff bracelets…”

I finally settled on a new yellow laptop and 1 cuff bracelet. My, my my - where do I get the willpower?

Cuffs are just sophisticated. To me they’re on a different level of style than other types of wrist-ware. In fact, the next time you’re looking for a gift for your gal-pal, get her a cuff.

My latest cuffs of desire come from Greenbelts.

Greenbelts are made from recycled leather belts, and other previously used decorative embellishments like buttons, buckles, and so on - which appeals to the treehugger in me. Plus, most of the pieces are under $25 - which appeals to my inner part-time spendthrift.

A Rubber Dream

When I gazed upon the jewelry line at Nervous System my heart began to pitter-patter. Whatever IT is, they get IT. And I love the IT they’re oozing.

Here you’ll find complex designs, that aren’t overstated. And both the necklace and bracelet (which they’ve dubbed the Radiolaria line) are made from silicon rubber. They’re flexible and odorless.

If you’re one of those, “I’ve-got-it-all” type girls, this line will make you realize that maybe you don’t.

Merry Christmas!

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

To all of my dear friends, readers, designers and buyers - I wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Whether you’re alone or with friends and family, take a moment to look in the mirror and give yourself a big, fat juicy kiss from me. :-)

With much adoration,

Alexis
